Mechelle first entered the fashion and entertainment industries at the age of 14, working in local productions, modeling, and appearing in beauty pageants in Houston, Texas. After realizing the desire to take her career to the next level, Mechelle left Houston for Los Angeles, the infamous entertainment capital of the world, to pursue acting and modeling. Shortly after her arrival in the City of Angels Mechelle met and married well-known film star and hilarious stand-up comedian Michael Epps, and became the parents of two beautiful daughters.
In addition to providing a comfortable home for her family, Mechelle has also managed to preserve a successful career, appearing in several films including The Fighting Temptations opposite Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and multi-Grammy winning recording artist and actress Beyoncé.
Mechelle strives everyday to be a positive role model for young woman through her experience in the entertainment industry, as well as in her philanthropic efforts and recent launch of the Michael and Mechelle Epps Foundation. Mechelle has spearheaded the creation of this foundation due to her dedication to transforming the lives of at-risk youth through literacy, participation in the arts, culture and sports, and enhancing after-school learning opportunities.
